Author Guidelines

Guide for Authors

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Computing and Data Analytics (JCDA) are evaluated through a rigorous double-blind peer-review process conducted by independent experts and members of the Editorial Board. The identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process to ensure fairness, objectivity, and impartiality.


Submission Checklist

Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that:

  • Your manuscript falls within the Aims and Scope of the journal. 

  • The manuscript has been prepared using the official Microsoft Word or LaTeX template. 

  • The manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere. 

  • All authors have reviewed and approved the final version. 

  • Ethical requirements, plagiarism policies, and publication standards have been fully satisfied. 

  • References are complete, accurate, and formatted according to the journal style. 

  • Figures, tables, and supplementary materials are properly numbered and cited within the manuscript. 

 


 

Types of Manuscripts

JCDA welcomes high-quality submissions in the following categories:

Research Articles

Original research presenting significant theoretical or practical contributions in computing, artificial intelligence, data science, and data analytics.

Review Articles

Comprehensive reviews that critically summarize recent advances, identify research gaps, and suggest future research directions.

Short Communications

Brief reports describing innovative methods, algorithms, datasets, software tools, or preliminary findings of significant interest.

Application Papers

Studies demonstrating practical applications of computing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics in science, engineering, healthcare, finance, education, industry, and related fields.

 


 

Manuscript Preparation

The manuscript should normally include:

  • Title 

  • Author(s) 

  • Affiliations 

  • Abstract 

  • Keywords 

  • Introduction 

  • Materials and Methods (or Methodology) 

  • Results 

  • Discussion 

  • Conclusions (optional) 

  • Funding 

  • Data Availability Statement 

  • Author Contributions 

  • Acknowledgments 

  • Conflict of Interest 

  • References 

 


 

Accepted File Formats

Authors are encouraged to prepare manuscripts using the official journal templates.

Accepted formats include:

  • Microsoft Word (.docx) 

  • LaTeX (ZIP archive including all source files) 

Figures should be submitted in high-resolution formats such as PNG, JPEG, TIFF, EPS, or PDF.

The total submission size should not exceed 120 MB.

 


 

Cover Letter

Each submission should include a brief cover letter explaining:

  • The novelty of the work. 

  • Its scientific contribution. 

  • Its relevance to the scope of JCDA. 

Authors should also confirm that:

  • The manuscript is original. 

  • It has not been published previously. 

  • It is not under review elsewhere. 

  • All authors approve the submission.

For each author, please provide:

  • Full name 

  • Institutional affiliation 

  • Country 

  • Email address 

  • ORCID iD (recommended) 

The corresponding author is responsible for all communications with the Editorial Office.

 


 

Abstract and Keywords

Abstract

The abstract should not exceed 250 words and should clearly summarize:

  • Background 

  • Objectives 

  • Methods 

  • Results 

  • Conclusions 

Keywords

Provide 3–6 keywords that accurately describe the manuscript.

 


 

Formatting Guidelines

  • Define abbreviations at first mention. 

  • Use SI units whenever applicable. 

  • Number all figures and tables consecutively. 

  • Mathematical equations should be editable (not images). 

  • Computer algorithms should be clearly formatted and, where appropriate, accompanied by pseudocode or source code availability. 

 


 

Software, Data, and Reproducibility

Authors are strongly encouraged to make available:

  • Source code 

  • Datasets 

  • Trained models 

  • Computational workflows 

through recognized public repositories whenever possible.

Each manuscript should include a Data Availability Statement.

 


 

Artificial Intelligence Policy

The use of artificial intelligence tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Claude) is permitted only for language editing, grammar improvement, coding assistance, or formatting.

AI tools must not be listed as authors.

Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, and scientific content of their manuscripts and should disclose any substantial use of AI-assisted technologies.

Authors should describe their contributions using the CRediT Taxonomy, including roles such as:

  • Conceptualization 

  • Methodology 

  • Software 

  • Validation 

  • Formal Analysis 

  • Investigation 

  • Data Curation 

  • Writing – Original Draft 

  • Writing – Review & Editing 

  • Visualization 

  • Supervision

Funding

Authors should disclose all financial support.

If no funding was received, please state:

This research received no external funding.


Data Availability

Authors should include a Data Availability Statement describing where supporting datasets, software, and supplementary materials can be accessed.


Acknowledgments

Optional.

Authors may acknowledge technical, administrative, or financial support that does not qualify for authorship.


Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research.

If none exist, please state:

The authors declare no conflict of interest.


References

References should be formatted according to the APA (7th Edition) citation style and arranged alphabetically.


Open Access

The Journal of Computing and Data Analytics (JCDA) is a fully Open Access journal. All published articles are freely available immediately upon publication under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.


Article Processing Charge (APC)

The Journal of Computing and Data Analytics (JCDA) does not charge any Article Processing Charges (APCs). Submission, peer review, and publication are completely free of charge for authors.
